The 7th Regular Convent of the Grand Lodge of Serbia, which was also an Electoral, was held after the 8th Freemasonic Picnic, at Orient Prijepolje. The Council of the Grand Lodge of Serbia, with the selfless support of the Brotherhood of the Honorable Lodge “Light of the Balkans”, flawlessly organized the Convent session.
The 7th Regular and Electoral Convent of the Grand Lodge of Serbia began on Sunday, June 12th 2022, at 10 a.m. More than fifty Brethren, members of Honorable Lodges working under the protection of the Grand Lodge of Serbia, were present, including delegations from the Supreme Council of Serbia, the Supreme Council of Austria, the Sovereign Grand Lodge of Austria, as well as Corolla “Aux Neuf Colonnes” from Orient Šabac and several Honorable Lodges that Worked under the protection of GSLFMS “Sub Rosa”.
Free people of good repute, gathered at the Annual Convent of the alliance of their Honorable Lodges, which they joined at the end of 2015 and named the Grand Lodge of Serbia, once again showed that pure and good intentions attract Unconditional Love like a magnet. The 7th Regular and Electoral Convent of the Grand Lodge of Serbia, with each subsequent moment, multiplied the effect of Unconditional Love on the hearts of the Brothers present, as well as on the hearts of those Brothers who, for justified reasons, could not join the Convent Work.
The Convent Work, with the help of the Officers of the Grand Lodge of Serbia, was opened by the Most Worshipful Grand Master, Brother Zoran Knežević. Since it was concluded that the Delegates of all Honorable Lodges working under the protection of the Grand Lodge of Serbia will attend the Convent, a quorum was established, and the session began according to the unanimously adopted agenda.
At the 7th Regular and Electoral Convent of the Grand Lodge of Serbia, the General Rules of the Grand Lodge of Serbia, regulations regulating certain areas of Work of the Grand Lodge of Serbia, as well as decisions proposed by the Council of the Grand Lodge of Serbia between two sessions of the Convent of the Grand Lodge of Serbia were adopted.
The Grand Master, Brother Zoran Knežević, submitted a report on the Work of the Grand Lodge of Serbia since its establishment in December 2015, until June 2022, in a total of two mandates in which he led the Works, as the Grand Master of which all Brothers are members of the Grand Lodge of Serbia were truly respected as their first among equals. At the end of his presentation, Brother Zoran Knežević was overcome by emotions, and in an atmosphere charged with positive energy and pure Joy, he distributed several letters of thanks to the Brothers who made their special contribution to the Freemasonic Work of the Grand Lodge of Serbia. Then he asked the present Delegates of all Honorable Lodges working under the protection of the Grand Lodge of Serbia to, by voting, elect the Grand Master and Officers of the Grand Lodge of Serbia for the period from June 2022 to June 2025, which the Delegates did.
By a unanimous decision of the Delegates of all Honorable Lodges working under the protection of the Grand Lodge of Serbia, Brother Veka Radonjić, Master Freemason of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, was elected Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Serbia for the period from June 2022 to June 2025. Also by unanimous decision, the Delegates of all Honorable Lodges working under the protection of the Grand Lodge of Serbia elected the members of the Council of the Grand Lodge of Serbia for that same period, fully respecting all proposals of all Honorable Lodges.
The previous Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Serbia, Brother Zoran Knežević, handed over the gavel to the Grand Commander of the Supreme Council of Serbia, Very Illustrious Brother Nebojša Atanacković, so that he could appoint the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Serbia. During the ritual installation, the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Serbia, Brother Veka Radonjić, presented the Work plan of the Grand Lodge of Serbia, and then took the oath. The Grand Commander of the Supreme Council of Serbia, Very Illustrious Brother Nebojša Atanacković, then presented him with the insignia of his duty and gave him the Mallet, so that the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Serbia, Brother Veka Radonjić, would continue to lead the session of the Convent.
The Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Serbia, Brother Veka Radonjić, greeted the Brethren present with his introductory speech of the Grand Master, and then installed the Officers of the Grand Lodge of Serbia, assigning duties to the elected members of the Council of the Grand Lodge of Serbia.
Convent Work ended at 1:00 p.m. The Brothers continued their Work in a Brotherly atmosphere, with the Agape, after which they parted in peace, returning to their families in various parts of our country.
